Humane At-Home pet  Euthanasia in Vancouver

If your pet has been diagnosed with a terminal illness and there is nothing more that can be done to help, or you are concerned they are suffering and approaching end-of-life, please contact us to book an appointment. We believe in the benefit of providing end-of-life care in the place where your pet feels most comfortable—at home.

What will it be like?

A Lifting Stars Veterinary Homecare Veterinarian will visit your home, discuss your pet’s health concerns, and perform a physical examination as needed and discuss the findings with you. If there are options for palliative care, they will outline the next steps for treatment. If you decide that humane euthanasia is the correct course of action, the veterinarian will explain the process and answer any questions that you may have. Our goal is for the procedure to be as calm and relaxed as possible, both for you and for your beloved pet. After euthanasia, we take your pet and arrange aftercare options, including cremation services and memorial items.

We partner with Until We Meet Again Pet Memorial Center in Surrey to provide cremation services after euthanasia. We also provide options for delivery services. There are two options for cremation: private or communal cremation. With private cremation, your pet is cremated separately from other animals, and the ashes are available in approximately two weeks. With communal cremation, your pet is cremated with other animals, and the ashes are not returned to you. Ashes from communal cremations are spread in a private country meadow in the Fraser Valley.

There are a variety of pet memorial and keepsake services available to you. If desired, we provide the option of a free keepsake fur clipping. The private cremation fee includes one of seven standard urn options.  For an additional fee, you may wish to explore our custom urn options, request a unique ink paw print, plaster paw print or to have a ceramic paw print prepared. Many other options for memorial items are available upon request.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to receive more information on memorial and keepsake options.  We kindly ask for you to make note of any memorial and/or keepsake items that interest you and inform us when you schedule your appointment.
