A compassionate guide to understanding your options, recognizing the signs, and making informed decisions for your beloved companion.
Our pets bring us so much love and companionship. That’s why deciding when and how to say goodbye can feel so impossible. Our veterinarians at Lifting Stars are specialists in palliative and end-of-life pet care, and we’ve each faced this same decision with animal companions we’ve loved ourselves. We will guide you through the process in a way that gives you the ability to say goodbye on your own terms.
Your first step is to reach out to us, ask your questions, and, if you feel ready, request a visit for an in-home quality-of-life consultation or euthanasia appointment. For both types of appointments, we will come to your home, talk with you about what’s happening with your pet, and help you take the next steps. We’ll give you the information you need to make the right decision for the moment, and to make a plan that fits the needs of your family and your pet.
When the time does come to say goodbye to your companion, we will be there for you. We will guide you through our gentle, humane at-home pet euthanasia process, explain all of your aftercare options, and give you some time with your pet. We can’t make it easy, but we can help make it meaningful and personal.
If you are concerned about your pet’s quality of life, let’s work together to provide the loving care, support, and guidance that you and your furry friend need and deserve. Our veterinarians are able to provide mobile, in-home end-of-life vet services across most the Metro Vancouver area. You can find a detailed map of our service areas at the bottom of this page.
